HO99O9 – UNITED STATES OF HORROR (SELF-RELEASE/999 DEATHKULT, LLC)

Imagine Lil’ John, Death Grips and Godflesh all smashed together, fronted by two blokes from New Jersey who are stoned out of their bonces. And one of them is wearing a wedding dress. That’s the kind of shit we’re dealing with here. Although technically, Ho99o9 are a “hip-hop” act, they’ve played with Slaves, were the main support to The Dillinger Escape Plan on their last tour and appeared on the Earache Records stage at Glastonbury this year. Plus, you’d be hard pushed to find anything in metal as aggressive or as fucked-up as this.

Whatever the genre definition, United States Of Horror is definitely “alternative” to everything.
