Previously, Saturday also featured someone that maybe not many Sonisphere residents would have expected to be there. Frank Turner took to the main (Apollo) stage day two, and truly rocked the place out with his acoustic guitar. Accompanied by his band The Sleeping Souls, the group brought Franks lyrics alive as he sung out tracks of real music. He gave recognition to the fact others had asked if he was nervous to play Sonisphere when he sings country folk, however he acclaimed his roots are metal and old rock, true music that does not carry false stigmas. So he joined in with all music lovers, and sang his heart out to real, honest music. Frank alone has created some truly special songs, to help us all realize how much we are all in this world together. And in a place like a festival, it’s a perfect time to make friends with others who you can connect to, and to simply enjoy our time. Honestly, he rocked out hard, plenty. But, it was a nice set back to hear some wonderful heartfelt lyrics.
