Gary Numan’s opening choice of song was crucial. It was late afternoon, and just as he had to open his own set, he had the task of opening the evening. The final choice of ‘Resurrection’ was inspired. The placement of ‘Cars’ midway through the set, and the ending choice of ‘Are Friends Electric?’ was perfect. Unfortunately, despite the wonderful track list and obviously legendary catalog of tracks, Numan fell slightly flat for no other fault than the timing of his set – he is more electric when he has a night sky to do it in front of.
