Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes- Blossom
I have a bit of a soft spot for Frank (as much as you can for a potty mouthed ginger) back from the days when Gallows were my local band of choice in shitty local venues in and around Watford. So in essence I’ve grown up surrounded by Frank’s music. I didn’t really get into Pure Love, so when they disbanded and Frank started Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, I hoped for something which the same bite I was used to, and my god did I get it. The album has Frank’s trademark anger and edge throughout it and he gets away with vocals and lyrics that no other artist could possibly get away with. Having a child has certainly softened him a bit (bringing his daughter on stage at Reading this year was a personal festival highlight) but his music, if nothing else, has blossomed (pun intended!) There is little I can fault about the album other than the fact that I need more. So hurry up Frank!
