2015 was a fantastic year for music from some amazing debut albums to some equally amazing sophomore albums, to bands on their eighth, ninth or tenth attempts. My albums of the year list features the music I have enjoyed most this year and the albums I can not stop playing, so much so that I still have a list of albums which I haven’t listened to (perhaps I should have tackled this in early December).
For me, 2014 was quite metal based, and 2015 has had a bit more of a pop-punk/ rock vibe to it, which is a nice change. Take a look below and what albums rocked my world throughout this year.

Bring Me The Horizon- That’s The Spirit
Shock horror, Bring Me The Horizon are my number one album. After hearing this for the first time I’m as shocked as you. When ‘Drown’ first came out I loved it; the track seemed to bridge a gap between where Sempiternal left off and where That’s The Spirit was going to lead, but when ‘Happy Song’ came out I wasn’t convinced. It didn’t sound like the band I had fallen in love with, and didn’t seem very ‘Bring Me’ to me. I hated the fact that I wasn’t crazy about my favourite band’s new album, but this soon changed through a mixture of constant listening and multiple times seeing them live. I find it hard to compare That’s The Spirit to anything that Bring Me have produced before, because it is so different, but when you listen to an album on repeat during a four hour round trip and don’t get bored it says a lot. The album has a great mixture of huge sounding tracks like ‘Throne’ and ‘Happy Song’ along with deeper tracks which I personally prefer, such as ‘Follow You’ and ‘Doomed’. Bring Me’s plans for the future are only going skywards and I’m excited to have been part of the journey for over nine years.
