Fall Out Boy- American Beauty/ American Psycho
I’m going to hold my hands up and say this is by far the worst Fall Out Boy album that they have released, and they are as far flung from the emo days of Take This To Your Grave (one of my favourite albums of all time) as Ellie Goulding is from fronting a metalcore band (although I’d like to see her try). But the thing about American Beauty / American Psycho is that the band sound content, they sound happy, and it shows in their music. Despite some questionable tracks, overall this is a step up from Save Rock and Rock, which featured some slightly odd collaborations, I’m looking at you Big Sean. But going back to AB/AP, the band seemed to have got their edge back; ‘Centuries’ is a massively addictive song and ‘Uma Thurman’ sounds amazing in the arenas Fall out Boy keep playing. The only thing I question about the album was it’s re-release Make America Psycho Again, which features different rappers on each track. You can keep that version to yourselves, guys.
