‘Tired of You’ – One By One (2002)When you look at an album such as ‘One By One‘ – an album with the likes of ‘All My Life‘ and ‘Low‘ as the opening tracks – it’s easy to call the rest of the material ‘stripped back’. And of course, those opening two songs are the absolute pinnacle of energy and volume on Foo Fighters’ fourth album, but ‘Tired of You‘ really stands out as a true thing of beauty.

Contemplative lyrics accompany a brooding guitar line of exclusively closed notes in the opening verse, before a second guitar joins the fray with a healthy portion of feedback and coolly plucked notes.
