The Heroes Send Off – Brand New

This still hurts to write, but Brand New will cease to be, come 2018, if recent merchandise releases are anything to go by. Pair that up with Jesse Lacey saying in the past that he wouldn’t be doing this at 40, and we have a real speculation locomotion on the tracks. Let’s drill into that final point: Jesse will be 40 on July 10th 2018. That is a full month and 15-ish days before Reading 2018. If he really wants to be meticulous and stick to his word on it, then ipso facto, R+L 2017 will be their last chance to play the festival.

They last played in 2013 in a surprisingly low slot on the Main Stage. Granted, that was 4 years after their latest record (a clock that is still going. It’s already been 7 years since Daisy, guys!) so if they are to release this fabled fifth album AND cease to exist as a band, then one can safely assume they will be granted the pomp and pageantry they deserve, perhaps a second-from-top placing, or a headline slot on the NME/Radio 1 Stage. Please?

And on that note…
