7: Arcane Roots – Main Stage (Saturday)
Arcane Roots can do no wrong, least of all when they are on the Main Stage coming off the back of recording their next album. They open with a glimpse of that future release, an expansive and atmospheric thrill ride that is quintessential Arcane Roots. The rest of the set consists of prime cuts off of their Heaven & Earth EP released last year, and ‘Leaving‘ is just as exquisite – if not more so – than it is on record. This is a band that has perfected their craft and truly love what they do. Their outpouring of gratitude to the throng gathered before them makes them all the more endearing and it’s hard to believe that just these three guys – Andrew Groves, Adam Burton and Jack Wrench – can make this much noise and still have it sound perfect.
There’s no denying that Arcane Roots will be main stage mainstays for many years to come at some of the biggest festivals across the land, and they bring a little something extra special to the fray for 2000trees’ 10th birthday extravaganza.
Happy birthday 2000trees – can’t wait to return next year. And the year after that. And the… well, you get the picture.
