4: Heck – Main Stage (Saturday)
Who needs a main stage when you sound and perform like Heck? In the world of Heck, it turns out that everything is a stage. The speaker stacks, the security railing, the sound booth at the back, even the crowd itself. There is no stopping them. And just as you would expect from such thunderous songs on record, this is a band setting out for destruction of property and themselves. You can barely look away for a second without losing members of the band. Then it turns out, oh the guitarist is in the centre of a circle pit and there’s the vocalist, just running through the back of the crowd. And yet – they don’t miss a beat. ‘Good as Dead‘ and ‘The Great Hardcore Swindle‘ sound just a earth-shattering and dangerous as they do on record and the added spectacle cements the band formally known as Baby Godzilla among the big boys. It’s clear to see why they had to change their name, because these guys make the real Godzilla look like a wimp.
