Life is Peachy – Korn
Nu-metal was on the cusp of breaking out in 1996, but it hadn’t quite shaken up the music industry just yet – that would happen in the next couple of years. Carefully paving the way for the eventual eruption were genre frontrunners Korn. The release of their debut album two years before saw unexpected success for the band, whose gnarly image and self-proclaimed ‘freak’ music appealed to a much bigger fanbase than anyone could’ve presumed. This was followed by second album Life is Peachy, which spawned tracks such as ‘A.D.I.D.A.S’ (don’t pretend you don’t know what that means!). Without Korn and the release of early albums such as this, nu metal may never have happened.
