As years go, 2016 hasn’t been the worst for band splits. After a turbulent few years in some bands history, perhaps the dust is finally starting to settle.

However, 2016 has seen the end of some iconic bands, and sealed the fate of a few others, who promise final albums and tours in 2017.

So let’s take a look at some of the victims of 2016!

Brand New 2000-2018?

Brand New seem to have confirmed their own fate after releasing their new line of T-shirts.

The Long Island emo band formed in 2000 and have been hinting at a break-up, with singer Jesse Lacey quoted as saying “this isn’t going to last much longer”, casting doubt over the future of the band.

This new line of T-shirts seems to confirm what we all first feared. The words ‘Brand New 2000 – 2018’ decorated with a funeral style flower arrangement adorn the front of the shirt. This would seem to be the final nail in the coffin after the band projected the same image onto the stage after a show in Vancouver.

We won’t start mourning yet just in case, but if you need a reminder of why you should make the most of Brand New while their still around, watch the video of ‘Sic Transit Gloria…Glory Fades’ below.
