As 2016 comes to a close, we look back at some of the bands we’ve lost this year, and a couple of bands who have confirmed their imminent split.

Welsh rock legends Funeral For A Friend announced the end of their 15-year career together as a band last year, and played their last ever gig on the Last Chance To Dance at the beginning of in 2016.

The huge list of shows saw the band perform their albums Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation and Hours in full over two nights at each venue.

A statement released by the band read:

“It’s never easy putting into words the feeling you have for something that in many ways is tangible. We’ve written this over and over and sometimes feel like we’re missing something. But this needs to be written regardless so here goes.

“Today we announce the end of Funeral For A Friends. Yes, the end. We’ve had an amazing ride, met an insane amount of people, toured countries we’d never even dreamed we’d get to see an make music together that in some crazy way has been responsible for taking us on that ride for well over a decade.”

It’s was sad to see the post-hardcore heroes call it a day. At least we’ll always have gems like ‘Juneau’ to remember them by. Watch the video below.
