3) The band are stepping it up a gear
In order to achieve the aforementioned “massive musical growth” the band took vocal and guitar lessons to improve their music and to “further their creative evolution.”
Heafy took to the band’s official Facebook page to explain why he’s taking singing lessons: “Since I was 12, I wanted to be a great singer. I screamed because I couldn’t sing. I am proud and excited to finally be able to do what I love the way I love. I was and am only capable of the scream you heard on most our albums. I needed to spread my wings. Screaming is easy. Singing is hard. I’ve always been a fan of what’s harder.”
His voice also developed a lot during the recording for their 2013 album Vengeance Falls as it was produced by fellow metal frontman, David Draiman of Disturbed who worked closely with Matt to increase his range as well as developing his songwriting and song-structuring techniques.
4) There’s a world-class team behind the album
The album is produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette who has worked with a plethora of bands within the rock and metal genre, from Falling In Reverse to Limp Bizkit and Slash and has produced every Alter Bridge record since 2007’s Blackbird. He’s clearly well equipped to bring out the classic metal sound in bands while making it sound truly unique.
In charge of mixing the album and bringing his own modern metal vibe is Josh Wilbur who is well known and respected within the metal world. In the past five years alone he has worked on albums for Lamb Of God, Hatebreed, Gojira and metal supergroup Killer Be Killed. Most recently, he was confirmed to be mixing the new Megadeth record and Dave Mustaine clearly approves of his work…
I heard the first pass at an official mix for the song "The Threat Is Real" that @JoshWilburMusic did. I'm thrilled he's mixing! #Megadeth15

So it’s safe to say that this album is in very safe hands with Michael and Josh.
