Five piece London based Amaryllis got the chance to support Elliot Minor on two dates of their final tour. They released their debut EP for free last year and released their latest EP ‘Revolt’ a few months ago. The band have been touring as much as they can having not only supported Elliot Minor but also The Dirty Youth and Boy Jumps Ship so make sure you catch them soon!

HTF: Hey guys, for the people out there who haven’t heard of you how would you describe your sound?
Amaryllis: We’re an honest rock band from like that delve into heavier rock riffs but also explore alternative and melodic sounds. Something for everyone!
HTF: You recently supported Elliot Minor, how did you find the shows?
A: Supporting Elliot minor was a truly amazing experience. We’d never played to so many people before and at such a high level pressured environment. The guys in Elliot Minor were really great with us and looked after us so well. Was a privalege to say the least.
HTF: To support them you were voted by fans. Did it mean more to be voted by the public?
A: It made it so special to have our fans make this happen for us. The show for us, was a celebration of what as a family we had all achieved together. It was their moment just as much as ours!
HTF: Your new EP ‘Revolt’ is out. We rated it 8/10 and we’ve read other great reviews. Do you pay a lot of attention to reviews?
A: We always read our reviews and seeing the response so far has been truly overwhelming. We do try to not pay too much attention to outside opinions as ‘revolt’ is our baby and the story of the last year of our lives that only the 5 of us can truly understand so for us it’s going to have a special place in our hearts despite reviews/opinions but of course, it’s always lovely receive such incredible feedback!
HTF: Were you more excited or nervous for it’s release?
A: We’re definitely excited as we’ve been waiting for 5 months to release this record. From the feedback we’ve had so far it’s been nothing but the highest praise we’ve ever had and fans have been so responsive at live shows when we’ve played the new material so we’re all in a good place right now!
HTF: You released a free download of your debut EP last year. How do you feel the progression from that to ‘Revolt’ has been?
A: We’ve definitely found our definitive sound with ‘Revolt’. We’ve gone through so much together and become so much closer as people that this record is definitely very personal for us. Our first EP went out and put us out there and boosted us into an incredible position, Revolt will show everyone what we’ve wanted to do for so long but can finally do now. We’ve put everything into ‘Revolt’.
HTF: What else can we expect from Amaryllis in 2014?
A: Touring, a lot of cool surprises and beginning the starting process of writing the first ever Amaryllis album!
