4) Giving back to the British music scene
Blitz Kids, The Blackout, Glamour of the Kill (who were originally billed to play at Havoc Festival)… just a few of the great British bands who have found themselves struggling with the shape music industry right now and have, sadly, broken up. These bands, along with many others – quite possibly some of your favourites! – can’t survive without constant support from the fans so, whether you’re a fan of the individual band or of the UK’s underground rock scene in general, it’s our duty to give back to these bands in whatever way we can. Festivals such as Havoc, which make a conscious effort to showcase unknown talent to a wider audience, are a great example of how we can keep British rock alive.
5) Fearless Vampire Killers fly the flag for creativity once again
They are, undoubtedly, one of this country’s most creative rock bands, so it was hardly surprising when Fearless Vampire Killers announced their latest venture was to launch their very own festival. One of the reasons that Fearless Vampire Killers are so loved is that they are always pushing the boundaries, always trying something new, always asking “What can we do next?” Havoc Festival is another brilliant way in which this band really fly the flag for British music and lead an excellent example in helping out their fellow musicians, as well as giving something fresh and exciting to all the fans who have so steadily supported them over the years. Who knows what they’ll come up with next?!
