Week 8: Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), Milton Keynes Bowl, 9th July
There were a number of competitors for this weekend such as Nowhere in Spain, which is similar to Burning Man (but sold out!) and then Cocoon in The Park in Leeds. Unfortunately, Cocoon in The Park lost out as many feel this year has seen the underground festival leap out of its techno roots and into the arms of the commercial crowd.
Contradictory to the above, if it’s the commercial crowd that you feel part of, the perfect place for you is EDC in Milton Keynes. While the festival has historically been weighted towards EDM, which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, EDC has decided to broaden its horizons to the likes of Trance, Drum & Bass and more. With Avicii, Axwell & Ingrosso, Martin Garrix, Eric Prydz, Robin Schulz, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, John O’Callaghan, Aly & Fila, Pendulum, Noisia, Sigma, Duke Dumont and more on the line-up, the days entertainment is a mammoth plethora of pure talent to accompany the heavy production and day-time neon extravagance that is The Electric Daisy Carnival.
