Chaos as a word connotes dysfunction, disorder, anarchy. It is associated with the base human instinct, to act without thought, to dominate all that stands before us. It is responsible for some of the saddest moments of our history and is something that the mainstream society actively works to prevent. This is why outlets such as video games and gore filled films have been created, to feed our blood lust, to suppress our true nature. Quite clearly Wild Throne pour their inner animal into their music, because they have refined chaos into art.
Blood Maker combines aspects of Hardcore, Metalcore, Classic Rock, And all that comes between to produce a sound that would at some point on this release, would please people of all rock persuasions. Fast offbeat drumming, high pitched screams and intricate guitar fills can all of a sudden be replaced by a guitar solo not out of place on an 80’s hair metal album. This is a very strange album to listen to as so much is going on at once. It’s like looking through a kaleidoscope, every time you revisit it you notice someone new. The first song from the E.P ‘Harvest of Darkness’ is the prime example of this musical genius displayed by the Washington Trio.
Anyone who is a fan of Protest the Hero will Instantaneously fall in love with this E.P, the musical styles are similar and even down to the lead singers vocals sounding the same.
In the end there only a few things that need to be said about to sum up this release, you have to hear it to experience it, and this could be the kickstart a band like Wild Throne need to make it big.
