Within the world of hardcore there aren’t many bands as well-respected, or names as well known, as Terror. Though they’ve never been a global sensation, since they exploded out of Los Angeles way back in 2002 they have released a slew of albums that are still influencing the hardcore youth of today. Not many bands who do what they do have managed to survive over the 15-year mark, but with the release of this EP, it seems that Terror don’t intend on slowing down anytime soon.
The Walls Will Fall, their eleventh studio release (but only their first on Pure Noise Records) is the musical equivalent of a flick-knife right between the ribs. With five tracks and standing at on 9 minutes long, there are still more than enough riffs to get pretty much any room full of people that isn’t a mortuary spin-kicking and moshing like there’s no tomorrow.
The first three tracks, ‘Balance the Odds‘, ‘Kill ’em Off‘ and the title track ‘The Walls Will Fall‘ are all under 2 minutes long, and yet there is so much ferocious power packed into them that if you were able to physically take a song out a CD, each one of them would be able to power a small house for several minutes.
This, combined with ‘No Love Lost‘ (the longest song on the album at 2.43) and a superb cover of Madball‘s ‘Step To You‘ makes The Walls Will Fall an extremely short but equally enjoyable EP; an explosion of fury from a group of true legends in the hardcore scene.
