Review: Missing Andy – Dave (Single)

We reviewed the new single ‘Dave’ from Missing Andy. Check out what we thought of it right here..

Band: Missing Andy
Release: Dave (Single)
Release Date: Out Now

Since appearing on Sky One’s Must Be The Music, Missing Andy have managed to gain themselves a fair bit of attention. Far from being a faceless conveyor belt pop act we’ve come used to seeing appear as a result of reality TV it’s nice to see a band with some actual talent benefit from it for once.

Earlier this year saw the release of Missing Andy’s new album ‘Generation Silenced’ and now from it comes brilliant new single ‘Dave’. First things first the band’s tale of an amorous yet highly dodgy young lady with poor grammar has a definite Madness vibe to it. Yet this is no bad thing because if there is one thing Madness are notorious for it is being a lot of fun and the exact same can be said for ‘Dave’. The bouncy keys and jaunty guitars combined with Alex Greaves cheeky lyrics result in a chorus that has been specifically written to be sung drunkenly out of tune en masse. ‘Missing Andy’ have turned out a single that it is very hard not to like, after just one listen you’ll be left bobbing along with one massive grin on your face.

‘Generation Silenced’ was released on October 13th 2011 and ‘Dave’ is available for download now.
