Mallory Knox are the latest band to emerge from a strong hometown following. They now face the tough quest of growing out of their Cambridge surroundings, in attempt to finally make something of their band. New single ‘Hello’ is just the song that could potentially propel them forward. Its fiery riffs and confident chorus put it in line with We Are The Ocean (minus the screaming). This is mainly down to the solid vocals of frontman Mikey Chapman. ‘Hello’ also has something a bit pop punk about it, but with a heavier acceleration of sound.
A flawless vocal is so important. Along with the a hefty amount of background noise, it can carry a song into the hearts of established fans, and more importantly entice new members to the Mallory Knox gang. This track is bound to conjure up some excitement about the prospect of a debut album and it’s also one that really shows the determined team spirit of Mallory Knox.
With the band having already played at Brighton’s The Great Escape this year and due to take up slots at Download, Hevy and RedFest, this summer could see a worthy wave of new doting fans.
