UK alternative rock band dirt have recently released their debut EP Mirrors along with a music video for one of their new tracks ‘Bonds’ and as far as first impressions go, the lads have done a damn good job.
Through this EP, dirt have boldly declared themselves as a worthy competitor to the likes of other UK rock bands like Young Guns and I Divide. The first track ‘Bonds’ offers on point clean vocals as well as powerful screams from lead singer Alistair Keenan and slick riffs and powerful chords from guitarists Dan Kidney and Nikhil Aggarwal. It even has a videoal directed by Daniel Broadley – who’s worked with big names in the UK rock scene like Mallory Knox, Lower Than Atlantis and Don Broco. ‘Fade’ is definitely the heaviest track that the EP has to offer, and is where drummer Perry Sinclair really shines, some of the fills in this track are huge, there’s even some very metal double bass in their too, hell yeah brother.
So, what does this EP say about dirt? Well, Mirrors is an excellent display of how much these guys have to offer, we reckon in a couple of years they could be up their with the big boys, adding another name to the rapidly expanding UK rock scene. Dirt also recently announced that they’ll be playing at this years Camden Rocks Festival along side hard rockers Funeral For a Friend, Heavens Basement and Turbowolf. Hopefully they can rock the house down and ensure they get that big break to go the distance. Best of luck for the show boys, give ’em hell.
