Introducing their four track debut EP ‘Take Your Time’ with a gritty and catchy rock track, Carson manage to infuse their recent album with an original but familiar sound.
‘Memories’ displays the quintets musical abilities – especially lead vocalist Taylor’s gritty and pop/rock vocals. Whilst this track predominantly launches the album into the rock genre, the second track of the EP ‘Stuck In My Ways’, compliments the band’s ability to reinterpret the sound of existing rock music, comprising pop and rock into one genre seamlessly.
‘Stuck In My Ways’ – displays a soft melodic string of vocals- which are ever enhanced by the experimental and playful riffs which make the track even more appealing.
You’re going to love this next track if you like the grittiness of Four Years Strong vocals combined with the pop/rock instrumentation produced by bands like Young Guns and Deaf Havana. ‘What She Said’ blends soft and deeper vocals with a relentless experimentation produced by the guitar and drums.
Concluding the four piece EP with ‘Changes’, the band have managed to create a relevant sound, which is not so different from what we might expect – but this is why we like them. They produce a familiar sound, which attracts the listeners of both soft and heavier music.
Carson have managed to produce a variety of tracks and every single one makes the listener feel as if they instantly recognise the song, producing a desire to sing along to the relatable lyrics.
