After an extensive 22 year career of hard rocking, Canadian punks Billy Talent have released their first compilation album simply titled, Hits. The new album is basically a timeline of glorious punk rock tracks, with some taken way back from 2003’s Billy Talent, right up to 2012’s Dead Silence. Hits also features two new tracks exclusive to the album, ‘Kingdom of Zod’ and ‘Chasing the Sun’.
The new album is a symphony of that unique, edgy punk rock sound that everyone loves. The distorted guitars, solid drum beats and lead vocalist Benjamin Kowalewicz’s staggering banshee like vocals will have you banging your head and air guitaring like a pro in no time.
Hits is a perfect accumulation of what makes Billy Talent so awesome. On the one hand you have loud, fast tracks like ‘Red Flag’ and ‘Devil In A Midnight Mass’ and on the other there is slower, more melodic anthems like ‘Rusted From The Rain’ and the new track ‘Chasing the Sun’, which is absolutely beautiful.
With four studio albums in the bag and their last tour ending almost two years ago. We expect Billy Talent to come back in a big way sometime in the very near future, the world needs more crazy loud punk rock don’t you think? They’ve been on the go for a damn long time, but lets hope that Billy Talent aren’t ready to call it a day just yet.
