Let’s be honest, everyone loves a good bit of insane thrash metal don’t they? Well if you are one of those who screamed: “YES” you’ll be pleased to hear that Spanish metal gods Angelus Apatrida are releasing a new album titled Hidden Evolution, and oh baby it’s a good one.
It has been 3 long years since we’ve had an Angelus record, and the new one is a more than worthy follow up to 2012’s The Call. Hidden Evolution is crammed full of everything that should be in a thrash metal record. Giant riffs, godly solos and lightning fast drum fills, this album is just 100% raw power, that’s the only way to describe it. Lead singer Guillermo Izquierdo does an amazing job of giving us varied, powerful vocal work combining screams and a hint of Hetfield-esque tones to go with the phenomenal riffs and licks delivered by David G. Alvarez, we guarantee your air guitars will come out on your first play through.
Angelus Apatrida have created an absolute shred fest on this record, with killer tracks like ‘End Man’, ‘Architects’ and the immense speed of ‘Serpants on Parade’. We advise you limber up your necks thoroughly, to avoid injury from all the head banging you’ll find yourself doing. After displaying first class thrash magic on Hidden Evolution, it’d be a great shame if a certain UK rock festival didn’t get to experience it this year… You’ve got 5 months chaps, make it happen.
