Album Review: Fort Hope – Choices (EP)

Take a look at what e though of the latest Fort Hope EP!!!

Artist: Fort Hope
 Album: Choices
 Release Date: Out Now

They haven’t even been a band for a year yet but Fort Hope has seen masses of success, from tours with We Are The In Crowd, NeverShoutNever and The Maine early this year. They have just dropped their second EP ‘Choices’.

The EP starts with ‘The Rapture’, a track that fans of the band will have heard played live, and the quartet made an In The Studio video playing the track. This recording varies slightly from the In The Studio version and only if you are listening very intently do you notice the subtle variations. Jonathan Gaskin’s angelic vocals in combination with the more raw guitars compliment each other perfectly.

‘I Got Style’ is quite different from anything Fort Hope have done previously and really has that more rock feel to it. The song wasn’t written acoustically like the rest of the bands track and it really helps to vary their sound.

‘New Life’ comes back to that Fort Hope sound and really brings home those stunning vocals of Jonathan Gaskin and backing by Andé D’Mello. In the middle of the track we get a choir esque vocals with the layering of Gaskin’s voice, which just brings in another dimension to their sound.

You will definitely be hearing more from these boys in 2014 and you can catch them on tour with Max Raptor in the new year!

10/10
