After their latest sneaky release of the stunning ‘Barbarian’ music video, UK rock powerhouses The Darkness have unveiled their first official single from their upcoming new record, Last Of Our Kind.
The new single, ‘Open Fire’ is a whirlwind of power chords and text book rock ‘n’ roll attitude, with lead singer Justin Hawkins displaying a somewhat more gritty vocal tone in comparison to his previous powerful wails, not that we are complaining, mind you – this song rocks!
So it certainly looks like The Darkness are gearing up to rock the globe yet again after the success of the 10th anniversary tour of their debut album, Permission To Land, in late 2013. Last Of Our Kind is due to drop on June 1st and the new single will be released on the same day. The Darkness have announced the new album will be available in various formats including download, CD and a sweet limited edition coloured vinyl, so keep your eyes peeled for those!
We’ll leave the confirmed track list and the new singles audio for you to check out below. Well what are you waiting for? Rock on, and god save the Queen or whatever…
