It is fair to say that Sum 41 main-man Deryck Whibley has not had the best time over the last few years. The main part being him almost dying as his organs shut down, brought about by his years of alcohol abuse. Well the good news has been he has been on one hell of a comeback trail since then. He has his health back, as well as his band, and then news came in that original guitarist Dave ‘Brown Sound’ Baksh had also returned to the fold. We here at HTF are suckers for a happy ending and it seems the good news is still pouring in as Sum 41 have now been announced as the headliner on next years Kerrang! Tour!
The annual tour sets out next February for an 8 date stint around the UK. Tickets go on sale this Friday 2nd October at 9am, and it is fair to say that Whibley is excited for the shows. He had this to say:
“We’re really excited to be back on tour. After a three-year break, we’re honoured that our first tour back is the Kerrang! Tour 2016 in the UK. We’ve been locked away in the studio making the new Sum 41 record, which we will be out later in the year [2016].”
More bands will be announced over the coming months – and of course, we’ll keep you posted.
