In potentially one of the most heavy metal instances of festival injury in living memory, 33 people have been injured at Rock Am Ring in Germany after the festival was struck twice by lightning.
The incidents happened at 1 am on Saturday morning, in which eight production staff were hit, and again at 4 am harming 25 people in the camping area.
After the first strike the festival opened lightning-proof tents for campers to shelter under.
The victims were taken to nearby hospitals to be kept under observation, although local authorities have said that no severe injuries were sustained by any of those affected.
Unfortunately at the same time, Clutch have been forced to pull out of the festival due to “emergency family matters”, although they have said that they will return for the rest of their shows in the near future, including Download Festival on June 12th.
