Rowdy London boys MassMatiks have released a music video for their debut single – here’s five things we’ve found out about them so far –
- There’s four of them
Potentially the most obvious one, but as a reasonably newly formed band we had no idea. You’ve got frontman George Peploe, Joe Turner on guitars, bassist Martin Linch and Josh Stagg hitting the skins.
- They already have some pretty big names interested in them
Phil Taggart at BBC Radio 1, John Kennedy at Radio X, Sophie K at Team Rock and Alex Baker AND Johnny Doom from Kerrang! Radio have already expressed interest in the boys and played their debut song on the radio. Gary Crowley from BBC Introducing is also said to be fully on board with these guys.
- They’re not afraid to draw from life experience
Pepople said about this track: “’Gunning For You’ was written about a guy I knew who is all bark and no bite. He thinks he’s a hard gangster, telling everyone he wants to beat me up, but when he saw me in person he couldn’t even look me in the eye.”
- They’ve got influences from all over the shop
There’s a lot of Don Broco in the sound of these boys, but we can also hear Slaves, a bit of the Rage Against The Machine crunch, and a whole lot of the honest delivery of Queens Of The Stone Age.
- They’re doing a tour this month
It’s already underway as well! Catch them on the remaining dates, which are:
