UK electro-rockers Enter Shikari have only gone and released some new music! Almost a year after the release of their 2015 album The Mindsweep, their brand new single ‘Redshift’ dropped on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show last night.
The new track is teamed with a video directed by none other than Mike Taylor, who’s also responsible for other Shikari videos including ‘Torn Apart’ and ‘Anaesthetist’. Lead singer Rou Reynolds had this to say about the new single: “Redshift is a song about bloody good luck! On the grandest of scales! Literally! Our universe is expanding faster and faster and a few trillion years from now, everything will have sped away from us so fast that all we would see when looking out from Earth is empty space. We would deduce that we were totally alone in the universe. A lost sheep. The last and only biscuit in the tin.”
‘Redshift’ marks the beginning of a very busy 2016 for Enter Shikari, arriving just before The Mindsweep Tour 2016, which kicks off in February, and the European leg which follows soon after in March. We’ll leave a full list of tour dates below for you all to check out. Support acts for the tours include The Wonder Years for the UK shows and The Quemists and Modestep sharing the main support slot for the European dates. Check out the video for ‘Redshift’ below and let us know what you think!
