Not too long ago, everyone was shocked to find that Bring Me The Horizon were heading into a very very different path that everyone is used to from the band.
‘Happy Song‘ was certainly a departure from the norm when it comes to Bring Me. 2013’s Sempiternal, although was certainly a departure from the band’s metalcore roots, saw them spread their wings and attempt other sounds while keeping the sound relatively familiar, this time around their brand new album That’s The Spirit is set to be completely new and different’. Lead vocalist Oli Sykes had the following to say:
“But this time round, the challenge wasn’t just for people to be impressed that a screamer’s learned to sing. We had to come back with something that would be impressive for people who had no idea of the history of the band.”
Last year’s offering ‘Drown‘ was different to begin with, but ‘Happy Song‘ took the differences to the extreme. This Thursday, 7.20pm on Radio 1, fans will be able to hear a third exciting edition to the already expanding track list with ‘Throne‘. Be prepared to hear yet another different sound. Bring Me The Horizon are certainly trying something new.
Finally, it seems that, according to the band’s official twitter page, That’s The Spirit will be released on 11th September 2015.
