Brand New seem to have confirmed their own fate after releasing their new line of T-shirts.
The Long Island emo band formed in 2000 and have been hinting at a break-up recently, with singer Jesse Lacey quoted as saying “this isn’t going to last much longer”, casting doubt over the future of the band.
This new line of T-shirts seems to confirm what we all first feared. The words ‘Brand New 2000 – 2018’ decorated with a funeral style flower arrangement adorn the front of the shirt. This would seem to be the final nail in the coffin after the band project the same image onto the stage after their show in Vancouver earlier this week.
2018 is still a long way off, and the delights that Brand New have given rock fans around the globe have 18 months left to be enjoyed one last time, and for anyone who hasn’t, to experience one of the last great emo bands.
