An Indie Punk band have been making waves in their home town of Guildford with their no limitation gigs and intense crowd interaction, to put this into perspective, BlackWaters have previously invited a whole 250 strong audience back to their house for a party after their gig.
However these 18 year olds do not only enjoy a party, they also produce quite thought provoking music. “So Far Out is about how restricted we are when it comes to having a say in things”, says Max. “We can’t control anything that happens outside our friendship group really. No one can.” David continues, “We’re in a boring as fuck town. That’s our generation. There’s no inspiration, we’ve got no platform to say anything on. Our age restricts what we can and can’t do. If I was born a few days later I’d be able to vote on a decision that will change my life. I’m talking about the Brexit by the way…”
It is easy to remember the times when you were absolutely powerless, and this song reflects those emotions. Having achieved local success BlackWaters will be heading out on tour at the end of year, you can catch them at these dates.
