Metalcore band Attila have just announced that they will be embarking on a UK tour in April 2017 in support of their new album Chaos.
Now, we all know that Attila isn’t the most beloved band around—they are barely tolerated by most. But, they do have quite the large fanbase that is constantly growing! Now, since the MOSH crew have listened to many Attila albums, and been to several of their shows, we thought it was only fair to help out those who aren’t too familiar with the band, and give them some advice on surviving an Attila show.
Tips:
- Don’t go… We’re kidding. If you think Attila are “just okay” or dislike them in any way, don’t go and see them. They will only make you hate them so much more. The band sound pretty much the same as their records, and if you hate their recorded music, you’re going to despise (and perhaps throw things at) them. And you’re really just taking up space. Attila is an acquired taste, so only go if you’re a fan of the band; otherwise, you’ll leave pretty disappointed.
- If you do choose to go, don’t stand in the front. Or anywhere near the front. Or the middle. You know what, just go stand in the back of the venue next to the bar, or something. Attila fans mosh and crowd surf like their lives depend on it. So if you don’t want a boot to the face, or an elbow to the ribcage, go stand in the back.
- You won’t understand a damn thing that’s being said – be prepared. This is usually the case for most metalcore shows, but Attila take it to a whole new level. (Fronz‘s lyrics are so fast that we don’t even think he can keep up with them!) So if you don’t care about actually singing along, and, you know, understanding what’s happening, you don’t need to worry.
- Get drunk and rage. Attila are all about partying the fuck out. Take a page out of the band’s book and headbang until your neck is about to snap!
- Have fun! Attila are a funny band. They play really loud and really fast and have really ridiculously heavy breakdowns thrown in every couple of seconds—so you’re bound to want to mosh a little bit. Go for it! It’s what the band would want.
