Kerrang! are certainly pulling out the big guns for this year’s awards. Already announced were British Metal heavyweights Asking Alexandria and now A Day To Remember have announced that they will be joining the fun with a full UK exclusive concert taking place directly after the ceremony.
The yearly awards are renowned for their antics of drunkenness and true rock n’ roll excess. This year’s looks set to be no different. The Awards will be hosted by two of the UK’s most flamboyant frontmen in Justin Hawkins of The Darkness and also Benji Webbe of Skindred.
ADTR frontman Jeremy Mckinnon has told fans to expect the unexpected on the night:
“Expect the unexpected. We’re kind of known for doing what you least expect, so I’m sure we’ll figure something out. Our paths have crossed with Asking Alexandria at festivals and that sort of thing over the years – there won’t be any rivalry on our part, friendly or otherwise. We just do our thing. It’s also awesome to be nominated. We never expected to do any of these things that we’re doing.”
The Kerrang! Awards take place at London’s Troxy on the 9th June.
