Talk Us Down are here with brand new song ‘Streets of Gold’, along with a mind-blowing music video, to show us why they should be planted firmly on our radar for 2016.
You might not have heard of these small-time Southerners just yet, but that’s undoubtedly about to change with the release of new single ‘Streets of Gold’. The sophisticated pop-punk track is a wonderfully pleasant blend of smooth, stylish modernity – something that is lost on so many young bands in the scene right now, who we find more often than not desperately scrabbling at the ‘90s heyday for ideas – along with the classic tale of escaping your hometown for the intoxicating lure of the big city, only to find that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. It’s a time-old story for the pop-punk genre, but with their unmistakably British vocals, bouncy melody and subtle yet punchy riffs, Talk Us Down manage to pull it off.
It helps that their music video for ‘Streets of Gold’ is nothing short of fantastic, especially for a band who haven’t quite got their feet off the ground just yet. The impressive production makes for a video that could easily be mistaken for a Top Ten rock band, and the way that these five lads glide through it with ease shows potential professionals.
These fresh faces are already gearing up to take on 2016, with another new single set to be revealed on New Years’ Day and their latest EP Your Heart’s Not In It to be released in March next year – and if ‘Streets of Gold’ is anything to go by, we seriously cannot wait!
