All right, so when we first heard that there was going to be a Ghostbusters reboot we were all extremely worried that, like most remakes, it was going to not only suck, but also ruin the legacy of the original film—some of us still have those worries! But regardless of what you think of the new all-female cast, it’s safe to say that the soundtrack is going to be pretty good. Fall Out Boy and 5 Seconds Of Summer are just some of the bands covering the classic GB tunes.
And since we’re all about soundtracks here at Mosh, here are five reasons why we’re excited about Ghostbusters new musical facelift.
- Pop punk crew Fall Out Boy are covering the GB theme tune! Hearing Patrick Stump sing “who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!” and “I ain’t afraid of no ghost” might just be the highlight of the film right there!
- Fall Out Boy are collaborating with the one and only Missy Elliott for the theme song! You just know that’s going to be tight… and weird.
- 5 Seconds Of Summer, one of the biggest pop (punk? rock? just pop?) bands in the world right now are releasing a new song for the film called ‘Girls Talk Boys’. We don’t know if it’s any good, but, come on, it probably will be!
- The new soundtrack is all about the alt-rock! In addition to FOB and 5SOS, Wolf Alice and Walk The Moon are also featured on the album.
- It will be something fresh and new to listen to, and if you don’t like it, something to bitch about incessantly. It’s a win, win.
