Parisian pop-punkers Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! seem to be moving away from their classic mix of pop-punk and breakdowns for their brand new video ‘The Other Line‘.
The old band had the somewhat”comedic” vibe going for them, with tracks like ‘Haters Gonna Hate‘ and ‘MILF‘, but that sort of persona can only get you so far, and only bring in so many fans. Chunk! seem to have noticed this themselves and have gone the more serious, yet undeniably still catchy for the new video.
The classic Chunk! Sounds are still there and ready, the great hooks, the massive breakdown (something which a lot of fans were scared would be missing from this new album), and the entire poppy catchiness of it all. There is certainly a chorus there that people are still going to be belting out.
It’s certainly a departure from their old material, and we’re so happy that they’re looking to constantly evolve as a band. This is a good first sign to how the new album should turn out. Get Lost, Find Yourself, will be released on the 18th May through Fearless Records.
