Drake Cancels Wireless Festival

Wireless festival is to be without Drake but organisers have acted swiftly for the replacement.

Canadian rapper and singer Drake has pulled out of Wireless festival in Birmingham and London this weekend.

The ‘Hold on, We’re going home‘ singer will be staying at home due an illness in which he is thought to be recovering from, his personal doctors have told him he is unable to fly to the United Kingdom.

To my beloved fans, it truly breaks my heart that I won’t be able to perform as planned at Wireless and Roskilde this weekend. I got sick a few days ago and although I am on my way to bouncing back, my doctors have made it clear that I am not physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my fans expect and deserve from me. I will be focused on resting for a quick recovery. I have the best fans in the world and I can’t wait to come back to make more incredible memories together.

The organisers at Wireless Festival have pulled out the stops to try and get Drake‘s space filled after this sudden announcement, for the Birmingham show they have replaced Drake with mulit-award winning Rudimental who will be bringing on special guests and for the show in London, 21 Grammy-award winner Kanye West is to now spend the Friday and Saturday entertaining fans at Wireless after agreeing to fill in for Drake.

If Rudimental were not a more than capable replacement as it is, the good people at Live Nation (the festival organisers) have given fans who will be attending the Friday show at Birmingam in hopes of seeing Drake a £20 ‘Wireless credit’ in which they can redeem and spend on beverages, refreshments and merchandise over the course of the day.

Bravo to Live Nation for such a quick and more than adequate response and we hope Drake makes a speedy and full recovery.
