Back when System Of A Down reunited, that was followed by a lengthily tour that took up 2011, 2012 and 2013, fans naturally started to question whether a brand new album was on the horizon. Especially when Dolmayan told the crowd, “Next time we come back here, we’ll have a new f—ing album!” The unfortunate news followed that no new SOAD music was going to come for a while. SOAD’s drummer John Dolmayan addresses this topic and about how it feels to be back in the band in Loudwire’s exclusive interview.
In the interview, Dolmayan mentions that when the band first got back together after the hiatus that, “It was weird. It wasn’t a comfortable feeling in the beginning.” He goes on to explain that it felt like they were in a awkward relationship where they have gotten back together after a long time apart. He also mentions that he even thinks it has been too long since they have released an album, saying, “I’ve kind of had enough of the mentality of, ‘that’s okay.’ It’s not okay.”
Whichever way System Of A Down decide to go, we wish them the best of luck in doing it.
