Punk legends Pennywise have unfortunately been forced to cancel two of their UK dates on the last leg of their current European tour. During the band’s performance at the Full Force Festival last Friday the band’s singer, Zoli, collapsed on stage during the band’s set. He was taken to the hospital where immediate surgery is being undertaken to avoid the risk of paralysis.
The band issued the following statement:
“We would like to thank everyone who has expressed care and concern for Zoli after he collapsed on stage at the Full Force Festival due to lower back complications from a herniated disk. He had an emergency procedure done on his back on Saturday as a result of the severe back pain he had been experiencing throughout the tour. The surgery went as perfect as could be. He’s recovering very well and is already up and slowly moving around. Zoli is in good spirits and is recovering nicely. Unfortunately due to his recovery time, the last leg of the tour will be canceled. The band will however be back out to finish the last scheduled tour date in Spain at the Aupa Lumbreiras Festival on July 13th.”
The affected UK shows are as follows:
July
10- London, O2 Academy Islington
11-Nottingham, Rock City
All of us at HTF wish Zoli a speedy recovery. Our thoughts are with him and his family as well as the band during this difficult time.
