Papa Roach have been forced to cancel the remaining dates on their Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival tour due to a nodule on vocalist Jacoby Shaddix’s left vocal chord. Following advice from his physician he will undergo corrective surgery to remove the growth. The band have apologized to disappointed fans, but explained that surgery is a necessary decision.
“It’s no secret that I’ve been having issues with my voice lately. I was hoping to be able to go out there and kill it on this tour by resting and doing vocal exercises, but my voice has just gone out on me. I hate to let our fans down, but unfortunately surgery is the only way to fix it,” Shaddix said. “The last thing we want to do is give our fans less than 100% every night. We know they’ll understand and we’ll be back better than ever.”
The announcement arrives just as the band confirm a trip over to the United Kingdom in support of their new album – ‘The Connection‘ – scheduled for release on the 1st October 2012. As part of a 21 date tour which takes in a record-breaking 8 headline shows in Russia (amongst others), the band will be stopping off at London’s Brixton Academy on the 10th and 11th December to deliver their explosive live performance.
