Merthyr Rock has revealed the final full line up to the festival, including some two new additions. Sonic Boom Six and Rise To Remain will both perform on the main stage on the Saturday.
It’s also been announced that the second stage has been named after BBC journalist James McLaren, who tragically died earlier this month. Promoter Rhodri has spoken of the importance of this decision and paid tribute to McLaren.
“James was a good friend and a true champion of welsh music. We wanted to give a fitting tribute to a great man and we thought this would be the best way to do it. James was all about new music and supporting emerging acts, and this year the stage was curated by lostprophets and the blackout – two bands he saw had potential for greatness in the very early stages. James was a great supporter of the festival in it’s first year, for which we are very grateful, and we hope this is a good way to celebrate the life of someone who really made a big difference to so many people in the local scene.”
The festival held in Cyfarthfa Park, in the centre of Merthyr from 31st August-2nd September will see Kids In Glass Houses, Skindred and Razorlight headline over the three days. Scroll down to see the full line up.
