It has been eight long years since the release of their last album ‘Death Magnetic’ but it now seems that Metallica have finally released a new track!
Fans have been craving something new for so long but the thrash megastars have not just been sitting at home counting their money, far from it. They recorded the much derided Lulu with the late, great Lou Reed. They have even played a special one off show in Antartica as well as headlining festival all over the world. This summer sees the band headline both Sonisphere and, in a move that has caused a lot of controversy and protest, Glastonbury so there is no better time for the band to finally unveil new material.
The new track is an 8 minute epic titled ‘Lords Of Summer’ is available to download now on iTunes. Metallica debuted the song live at a festival in Colombia earlier this year and although the band are recording a new album their is a strong chance this track wont appear on it. Drummer Lars Ulrich has stated that ‘Lords Of Summer’ is a fair representation of what fans can expect to hear on the new record.
Take a sneaky listen right here.
