According a Facebook post from bassist David Ellefson: Megadeth are working on brand new material for the awaiting album. He also posted a two new photos of himself and frontman Dave Mustaine in the studio.
Ellefson reports in the post, “Dave and I are in the studio this week in California working up some of the new riffs. We’re having fun, just throwing it down and keeping it chill. These are essentially writing demos at this point so just grinding out the tunes like a metal band should. More to come….”
Lets see if it beats ‘Super Collider,’ that was released a year ago and got to No# 6 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Which was their highest charting album since their 1994 album, ‘Youthanasia’.
Megadeth have announced also that they are on the road again for, Amnesia Rockfest, in Montebello, Canada on Friday (June 20) But they have recently cancelled some shows due to the personal loss of Ellefson’s brother who died after battling cancer in May.
In Mid-July, the band have some North America shows then overseas for gigs that include several festivals, including Wacken and Bloodstock. After that, for now, Megadeth have some downtime to work on their new album.
