Earlier this month, Mastodon announced that they were getting ready to release their first album since 2011’s ‘The Hunter’. Titled ‘Once More Round The Sun’, the album is set to be released later this year through Warner Brothers Records. Recorded in Franklin, Tennessee, the album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who has worked with the likes of Deftones and Alice In Chains. In a recent interview with Paste Magazine, bassist and vocalist Troy Sanders revealed that the band are extremely excited for fans to hear the new record: “The songs all revealed themselves as what we’d hoped they’d sound like. It’s big hugs all the way around. The four of us are digging it very heavily.”
It just so happens that Mastodon have put out a little taster on what the album will entail, with their new track ‘High Road’. With their website stating “See you on the high road – April 29”, we’re guessing this means the track will be up for purchase on the date. For now, you can listen to it right here:
