Today CBS6 have reported that GWAR lead singer Dave Brockie, who passed away unexpectedly in March, died of “acute heroin toxicity“according to the Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office.
The founder of the metal band went by the stage name Oderus Urungus; the band’s most recent album was 2013’s Battle Maximus.
After his passing, the remaining members or GWAR announced they will play the fifth annual GWAR B-Q on August 16, with tickets going on-sale June 6. The band is also opening a restaurant called GWARbar to fulfill one of Brockie’s wishes.
