Butserfest 2013 Preview – Bands You Need To See

Festival season is coming to a close (boo hiss) but Butserfest will be here to give the summer a great send off! Check out who we think you should all keep an eye out for while you’re there!

Festival season is coming to a close (boo hiss) but Butserfest will be here to give the summer a great send off! Now in its seventh year, this southern all-dayer never fails to impress with its brilliant atmosphere and spectacular line ups, and of course this year is no different! Below are just a few of the bands that we recommend you see if you’re lucky enough to be in attendance…

1. Bleed From Within
These screamy Scots have been popping up everywhere since the release of their latest album Uprising. This festival will see them return to Blighty after a successful summer appearing at various European festivals, and as the current holders of Golden Gods’ Best New Band title, it’s a given that their set is going to be INSANE.

2. Hacktivist

These guys to us are some of the front-runners in UK djent right now! Their blend of chugging guitars and grime vocals courtesy of J Hurley is a definite crowd pleaser. We especially can’t wait for the guys to crack out their much loved rendition of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s ‘N***as In Paris’, which you can check out below!

3. Set Your Sails

Local lads Set Your Sails will be one of the first bands of the day to grace the Glory or Death Stage, and they’re definitely going to get the tent warmed up! The group was picked from a shortlist of six unsigned acts all wanting a spot on the bill, and by just listening to ‘What Stays In Vegas’, we think these guys are definitely worthy winners!

4. Natives

There’s been a lot of buzz around this New Forest group over the past year or so, and for good reason! Yet to release a full length album, the pop-punkers have already hit the road with Mayday Parade and We The Kings, and won the hearts of mainland Europe. The “Tribe” is growing rapidly, and you should definitely want in right now!

5. We Are The Ocean

Of course, how could we forget Sunday’s headliners We Are The Ocean?!  There is a reason they’re headlining, y’know!
