Metallica’s headline slot at the Glastonbury festival has been a hotly debated topic and Hit The Floor recently reported on Johnny Marr’s opinion on the matter. Now Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson has also spoken out but has been far more damming in his attitude towards the decision and to the festival itself.

Claiming that the festival was far too middle class, Dickinson stated that Iron Maiden would never perform there. Dickinson told the Daily Star that, in the past when the festival was more a an alternative event he thought it was interesting but then exclaimed “Anywhere Gwyneth Paltrow goes and you can live in an air-conditioned yurt is not for me”.

While he did not condemn Metallica for choosing to take the headline slot, it seems clear that Dickinson would not be following in their footsteps any time soon.
